OK friends,
We're trying something new this week. Every once in a while on ALMG we're going to bring you a one-off short story, because who doesn't love a good story? The aim of these more abbreviated pods is to share or highlight one story we found particularly interesting, inspiring, or moving. Today's episode is the first foray into this format.
We sat down with Abdallah El Chami, aka Dallah of Superbaba, a well known and loved food truck turned brick and mortar restaurant offering some of the best modern middle-eastern food in the city, check him out at superbaba. In this episode Dallah shares the incredible story of how he got his name, for many of us, the story of how and why we were given our names has some significance, meaning, and connection to family. For others, perhaps our parents simply chose something they liked, either way, we all know that names carry power. To say someone's name is to capture their attention, even momentarily, and to know someone 'on a first name basis' reflects a level of connection beyond mere acquaintances.
But for Dallah, his name has a deep and mystical origin that almost seems beyond belief. We are so thrilled that Dallah shared this with us, and you, and hope that next time you're grabbing a falafel from Superbaba, you'll enjoy it that much more, knowing a bit about the man behind it!
Hope you enjoy this one friends!
