Hey everyone!

We are thrilled to share today’s episode with you all! We sat down with our favourite local farmer, the one and only Daniel Garfinkel! Daniel is a thoughtful, compassionate, community minded, soil loving, regenerative farmer who is passionate about growing food and growing connection, and raising awareness of the importance of regenerative and ancestral practices of farming.

From someone who worked closely with food as a chef in Vancouver, Daniel made the jump into farming via a backyard plot in his Mother's garden and hasn't looked back. Recently Daniel has partnered with a local family to establish Athiana Acres Regenerative Farm here in the southwest corner of Richmond BC, which is a traditionally fertile patch of Earth, with a long history of Local farms. The beauty of Daniel and Athiana Acres is that the practice of farming they employ is fully regenerative, one hundred percent organic, and deeply intentional.

Our conversation covers Daniel's approach to farming, what Regenerative agriculture is, and why he practices it, the importance of community and connection to the land and our food systems, why soil is key, how we belong to an ecosystem rather than exist outside of it, and our historic and spiritual connection to the land. This was an amazing conversation, and we know you are going to dig it.

peace,

Z&D
