Alexandra Mazerolle (aka Ally Maz) invites us to ponder our true self. The self we may have buried beneath the weight of fitting in, or conforming, into a lesser version of ourselves. Her work is to help each of us rediscover ourselves in new and powerful ways, through movement, breathwork, and honest reflection in safe circles. We are very excited to share this episode with our dear friend Ally!

She is a writer, her book "Girlvana" just dropped in June 2021, entrepreneur and yoga teacher. She is the founder of Girlvana Yoga, Ladyvana Retreats and is the co-founder of the renowned yoga/fitness studio The Distrikt. She is currently a founding teacher on Open, an yoga platform that is changing the game.

We chat with Ally about her growing up years, her low-key Celebrity dad, and her early life as a dancer. She touches on her victories and struggles, and how she came to find herself through the healing work of yoga and breathwork. And now she extends that work to others through her work with Girl/Ladyvana and her teaching on the Open platform.

We also talk about…

  • Healing from body dysmorphia & an eating disorder

  • Self-love & choosing worthiness from within; Punishing yourself vs. honouring yourself

  • The power of Breath; our hidden superpower

  • Crafting an “I am” statement

  • Founding Distrikt Movement and the positive trail it has created

  • The beginnings of Girlvana Yoga and writing the Girlvana book

  • The idea of the wounded healer

This is a great conversation, and if you don't already know and love Ally, you will by the end of this episode!
